Sara Michaels, LMSW, has been a dedicated member of the CHCAC team since her internship, progressing through various roles with the organization. In 2023, she was hired as the Mental Health Coordinator before transitioning to the role of Mental Health Therapist. Throughout her career, Sara has also stepped in as a Family Advocate as needed, further demonstrating her flexibility and commitment to supporting families in diverse ways.

Sara specializes in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and is a Nationally Certified TF-CBT Therapist. She has pursued advanced training to work with children who exhibit Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB), expanding her expertise to better serve her clients.

Sara holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State University and a master’s degree in social work from Walden University. She is deeply passionate about providing children with a platform to share their experiences, fostering healing and growth. Outside of her clinical work, Sara enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and supporting her children’s activities. She also serves as an adjunct instructor at Lackawanna College, teaching psychology and human services, and is committed to shaping the next generation of mental health professionals.
