Caring for kids, first and always.
Medical exams are offered to every child who comes to The Children’s House. We proudly partner with Guthrie to ensure children have access to compassionate, high-quality medical care when it is needed.
Specially trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) conduct medical exams either onsite or offsite, depending on the child’s needs and circumstances. These professionals are trained to work with children in a gentle, trauma-informed way, prioritizing comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the visit.
A medical exam is an important part of both the response and the healing process. While not every exam results in medical evidence, every exam serves a critical purpose. It helps ensure the child’s health and well-being and reassures them that their body is okay.
Families are encouraged to learn more about what to expect through our Frequently Asked Questions, and our team is always available to help answer concerns along the way.
